Chorleywood Parish Council is encouraging residents to sing on their doorsteps at 7pm on Christmas Eve –  Silent Night is the chosen carol

“We are trying to create the community spirit that happened in the summer, especially now that the Christmas plans for many will have changed” says Yvonne Merritt, Clerk to the Council.

And if you don’t know all the words…

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
‘Round yon virgin Mother and Child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight!
Glories stream from heaven afar;
Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia!
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born!

Christ the Saviour is born!

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, oh, love’s pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
