Two sisters from Chorleywood, Issie and Katie Johnson, both had success in the recent British Youth Fencing Championships. Issie won the gold medal in the Under 12 Girls Foil category and Katie won silver in the Under 10 Girls Foil category. These national medals are their biggest achievements to date and add to an impressive list of other fencing titles that they have won over the last few years. Both girls train at Fencers Club London (FCL) which is based at the Royal Masonic School in Rickmansworth. FCL was established in 2015 by Domonique Szokolovics, a former St. Clement Danes pupil and British fencing champion, who has built FCL into one of the country’s leading fencing clubs in just a few years along with fellow FCL coach Pawel Osmanski, a former European Junior Fencing Champion.
