Arun Manickam, Chef Patron of The Stag was planning his menu when he came up with a long term plan
“ I was trying to work out of how I could spread the word about Specials and menu changes when I had the idea of developing a social media platform-come-website to keep people updated on what we are serving in the pub. I started to think how the page could give details of the dishes, ingredients and potential allergens, how it could be used to order meals for home delivery too and how the platform might work well for other businesses in Chorleywood and eventually across the country.”
Arun took another 10 months to work on the idea and his site www.myfav.restaurant is now live.
He sees it as a cross between Just Eat and Deliveroo but with more benefits for local businesses who sign up to it.
“ This is one way businesses can work together and survive even if there are less customers coming through the doors. Restaurants and pubs who take part won’t have to do the deliveries themselves. I have been squeezing my brain to think of other ways it could work in future and I hope it can be used to order meat, milk, cereals, groceries. There will be incentives for customers to order early with discounts on orders placed before lunch time. People can follow us in the same way as on Facebook or Twitter”
The Stag, The White Horse and a few other local eateries are already on board
