Chorleywooder Teri Bishop has signed up for the Thames Path Challenge in September
“This year I reached yet another of those “Noughty” birthdays and thought if I don’t do something, I will be lucky to make it to the next Nought! ” says Teri, ” Having had triplets in 1997 and another baby in 2000 I have had very little “ME” time! My son is autistic and so we belong to the National Autistic Society. We, fortunately, have not had to call on their services but there are plenty of people that do. Whether there are more cases of autism now or we are just better at diagnosing, I don’t know. Anyway, I have signed up to take on the Thames Path Challenge in September. This is a 100km endurance walk. We start on Saturday morning at Putney in London and basically walk, with the exception of meal breaks, to Henley on Thames. I have had to guarantee to raise a minimum of £400 for the NAS when signing up for the challenge. My Just Giving page is http://www.justgiving.com/Teri-Bishop1″
Teri is currently training along the Grand Union Canal
“I thought this would be the closest to the terrain of the TP. I have developed ITBS (Illiotibial Band Syndrome) so am battling with the aches and pains associated with this, along with a chronic back condition, however I am determined that I will not give in to these ailments, I am a working mother of 4, I can’t let mere pain stop me!”
