As winners of a national ‘Get Set to be a Paralympian’ competition run by the British Paralympic Association, Year 6 children at Christ Church School were visited by British Paralympic Champion and 800m Gold medallist Danny Crates a few weeks ago. The children, who had made a video about their classmate Oliver, who is wheel-chair bound, won a professional film-making workshop to celebrate the Paralympic values of Determination, Inspiration, Courage and Equality.
Oliver said “I was super-excited to meet a real Paralympian athlete. He’d seen our video and knew my name. He gave me a signed copy of his autobiography!”
