The summer reading challenge is back. The Big Friendly Read organised by Herts Libraries and The Reading Agency invites children of all ages to read six books over the summer holidays. This year marks 100 years since the birth of Roald Dahl and the challenge celebrates this by featuring some of his best loved characters illustrated by Quentin Blake. Young participants can read anything –‘ story books, factual books, talking books and e books (download free at the library) and there are limited edition Quentin Blake collector cards up for grabs and medals and certifcate will be awarded to children who finish their six books
