After being diagnosed with acute leukaemia which led to a bone marrow transplant, Tony Hurran was determined that after he recovered he would take on a challenge to raise money for the Anthony Nolan charity
On the anniversary of his the stem cell transplant ( 29 October) he walked from his Chorleywood home to Watford General Hospital, where he was diagnosed, and then on to UCLH, a round trip of 75km, some of which he was accompanied by wife Beth and his two children.
“We did it in 16hrs 25 mins – I’m hoping my legs will forgive me! We are currently at £12.1 k (including gift aid) and counting!
“The kids were great and I truly cant believe Tony made it” says Beth
