Chorleywood based charity Mission EmployAble has just launched Mission DiggAble, a virtual flower show run in conjunction with horticultural societies of Chorleywood, Heronsgate, Loudwater and Rickmansworth.

The venture aims to help raise money for a café staffed by young people with learning disabilities, housed within Chorleywood Cricket Club’s new pavilion.

“With so many people re-discovering the joys of gardening during lockdown and garden shows cancelled nationally, we thought an interactive show would be blooming great fun and give people the chance to be creative for a worthwhile cause.” says organiser Erica Bendall.

Participants have until 15 August to submit entries online under seven categories:

* Best hanging basket, window box or container.     *Best ‘upcycle’ project     * Kids’ Corner for under 11s

*  Tallest sunflower                  * Best hand-picked flower arrangement              * Best fruit and veg

*Best drawing or painting of a garden scene

Prizes have been donated by local businesses.  More details at:
