Hillside Pre-School has a new personalised climbing frame in their garden funded through events organised by their dedicated committee.

“We are so lucky to have outside space” says Emma Weidner, Pre-school Manager. “Fifty percent of the curriculum should be taught outdoors in the early years. Climbing increases children’s physical activity and helps them assess risk at the perfect age when they have that element of adventure and exploration. We have chosen a quality brand with wooden elements and rope ladder that blends well into the surroundings and is extremely robust – it’s practically indestructible and is set firmly into the ground!”

The slide was installed by Floyd’s Landscaping & Building and was officially opened by Rev. Arderne Gillies of Hillside Free Church
