BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS

Pupils at Christ Church School celebrated the Queen’s Birthday on 21 April “Everybody came dressed in red, white and blue” says Deputy Head Claire O’Rourke. Head Teacher, Duncan Gauld ( main pic)  vacuumed classrooms whilst children organised, polished and wiped. The day ended with a tea party and children were given a book from Christ Church. “I loved singing the National Anthem and waving a flag,” says Tristan, Yr 4.

RUSSELL NEWS

SUM SUCCESS

Russell School pupils recently took part in a Yr 4 Maths Challenge with some technically demanding puzzles, questions and games. The competition, hosted by Gayhurst School, Bucks, involved 19 schools and Russell boys (Phillip and Anthony) came 2nd.  Girl reps Megan and Zosia did brilliantly too!

FUNDRAISING STEPS

Following a NSPCC visit to Russell School where the team gave a presentation on Safeguarding, children were enthusiastic about fundraising for the charity and each class took part in an NSPCC Dance-a-thon

LOOKING FORWARD

Russell pupils are looking forward to a summer of sporting activities. The children have been spurred on by their accomplishments in early spring when the boys won and the girls came 3rd in Three Rivers and Watford Indoor Athletics final. Events included long jump, javelin, speed stacks and running races including hurdles and obstacles.
