Chorleywood welcomes back jazz musician Janet Seidel to perform another concert as part of their 3 month programme of shows in the UK which covers venues all over England and Scotland as well as Ireland, Holland and Sweden.
It’s the second time the trio of Australian top jazz musicians have played a fund raising gig for FOPS (Friends of Prostate Sufferers) – the first was when they did a Chorleywood house swap in 2012
“ This time we are staying in Richmond and we’re delighted to be returning to our beloved Chorleywood! Since in the UK last we’ve been touring Japan and Australia”
Classically trained, Janet has been playing piano and singing since her teens then turned to jazz when she discovered the Great American Song Book. She has performed with many different sized bands but the Trio, she says, works a treat.
Chuck plays the guitar (and ukelele) and brother Dave the double bass.
“Chuck often makes the guitar sound like percussion so we don’t need drums! I value the sound of acoustic instruments. Our current set list changes but we use Song Book standards from the 20s to the 50s – from Cole Porter and Nat King Cole to Peggy Lee and Doris Day. “
Janet has played to audiences as big as 100,000 but prefers small cabaret gigs.
“ We all love intimate venues and especially the natural acoustics of old halls and churches!”
