“Not White Nose were just electricifying” says Kersten Luts, leader of Bucks Music Trust, of the Chorleywood based indie rock band who won Bucks Battle of the Bands this year. And Kersten, who created the county music competition, knows exactly what makes a winning formula.
“They came to the final all guns blazing with an outstanding original track they wrote themselves and the show was brilliant to watch. They pulled all the tricks out of the bag with lead singer Gaetan performing stage slides, stage jumps, playing his guitar behind his head and going out into the audience to sing. But more than that, their compositions are awesome and the rhythm section, led by drummer Max, is really tight. They killed it. We said last year they were the ones to watch and we were proved right!”
Not White Noise, (two triplets Gaetan and Max Buisson, 15, and twins Daisy and Henry Rutter, 14) all students at St Clement Danes, have performed for three years running on our community stage at Chorleywood Christmas Festival. They were one of 24 youth bands selected as one of twelve in the final which took place on Saturday 3 March at The Old Town Hall in High Wycombe.
The band win a two-day recording session at Bucks New University, the result of which will be released on Man in the Moon Records and distributed through Warner ADA.
“Battle of the Bands gives young musicians an opportunity to perform in front of a large audience on a big stage using proper tech and with feedback from music industry professionals.” adds Kersten. “We are already planning next year’s event!”
