Chorleywood Bookshop stock hundreds of books but if you find it hard to select one as a gift just give the shop staff a clue about the recipient’s passions  – they are geniuses at recommendations.

We asked the Bookshop team about their own favourite Christmas choices

Sheryl:

“The Snowman by Michael Morpurgo (£12.99) is the best Christmas family-sharing story ever. This version brings the magical snowman to life once more in a reimagining of the Raymond Briggs classic.

Santa’s Christmas Journey (£14.99)is a fun, interactive book that comes with a Santa and sleigh that young readers can move around the North Pole to follow the man himself on his magical journey. Kids just love it.”

Wendy:

“Cat Tricks (£6.99) and Guinea Pig Christmas Carol (£7.99)

“I chose these light-hearted stocking fillers as Christmas is about fun, and who doesn’t love guinea pigs in costumes and cats doing tricks!”

Debbie:

“Michelle Obama’s new book Becoming(£25) about her life before and after the White House is perfect for friends who enjoy inspiration.

And every Christmas needs a Royal Rabbit  – The book series ( Royal Rabbits of London: The Great Diamond Chase (£10.99) is greatfor parents and children.”

Helen:

“I love A Literary Christmas (£12.99) It’s packed with classic Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy tales and Christina Rossetti and Benjamin Zephaniah poems  – ideal for literature lovers

King of kids’ books David Walliams latest release is about the cutest baby penguin Geronimo(£12.99) who wishes he could fly. You will be a top grandma/pa, auntie /uncle/ godparent if Geronimo is under the Christmas tree.”
