On Remembrance Day earlier this week St Clement Danes First XI Rugby Team recreated a photo taken in 1913. The students replicated the pose from the 100-year-old image.. Three of the school’s young footballers died during the First World War.
“If these students have been in school in 1914 they would have been eligible to be called up to war and the probability is that some of them would not have returned.” said Deputy Head Teacher Mr Geoff Butler, ” It’s important we remember the sacrifices they made.”
