After a few chilly weeks the sun finally warmed us up and many Chorleywooders got down to their first serious gardening session of the season. Julie Smethurst was on a mission .. ‘”My crocus bulbs had been dug up by an animal – either a squirrel or Muntjac deer, probably they were hungry in the cold weather. I’m pushing in spiky twigs and winding round raffia in an attempt to stop more being uprooted. I love spring.. if everybody in Chorleywood planted bulbs on pieces of spare land think how lovely the village would look.”
