Two uber talented, local creatives have teamed up to make an edgy music video. Featuring the track Chemical by singer songwriter Jack Garratt, the video is directed by Tom Clarkson.
Both hail from Little Chalfont and have known each other since they attended St Clement Danes school.
“I’ve been good friends with Jack since school” says Tom, ” but I also have huge respect for him as an artist. His brain is a beautiful mess of inspiration and new ideas that blend together perfectly and Chemical was, to me, a great testament to that. I really wanted to reflect that in the video. He shared the track with me early on and I sent over some ideas. It was a really exciting track to pitch ideas on, each time I played it, I imagined something new. Inspired by the track, the idea was to combine a beautiful innocence with an aggressive passion and obsession. I really think we found that with this video.”
To quote one member of the production team, ‘It’s actually pretty excellent and I think you might like it forever.” which just about says it all.
As for the artist himself, he is one happy man… “*Deep breath*…This is SO exciting.”
Chemical will be on Jack Garratt’s EP The Synesthesiac to be released on 13 April by Island Records. The EP was highlighted last month (28 Jan) in the Launched at Red Bull Studios series on Channel 4 hosted by Annie Mac, where Jack was billed as one of ten artists tipped for the top in 2015.
