Heronsmere, Chorleywood’s very own private home care business, is going from strength to strength. The company, which was set up in 2015 by Harriet Davis, has recently had an excellent report from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of all health and social care services in England.
Assessments are made for safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led care following reports carried out from site visits and interviews.
“ We were rated as ‘Good’ in every aspect” says Harriet, “We have a team of 16 carers looking after clients in and around Chorleywood who have a variety of needs. We cover everything from day elderly care to end of life care and live-in care or can offer companionship where a person might just need help with shopping or transport to luncheon club or the doctors. We also specialise in dementia care.”
Harriet, who worked as a community nurse/hospice nurse, gets a lot of satisfaction from helping individuals.
“ The best thing is that we enable people to stay in their own homes and can make such a difference, our clients look forward to seeing us and we become friends, or even ‘family’. As a small business with no social care restrictions we can be more flexible and offer continuity and people really appreciate that.”
