Ten year old Will Day gets stuck into pudding mixing at Christ Church School earlier today (Sun 23 Nov) when about 20 families met up to take part in Stir up Sunday
Stir-up Sunday is the customary day for family members to take a turn at stirring the Christmas pudding whilst making a wish. Traditionally the day is a month before Christmas day, the last Sunday of the Church Year, so the flavours have plenty of time to develop before Christmas. With the Christmas Tree up & decorated, families took turns to follow the instructions and add the prepared ingredients to their mixing bowls.
“Today, with a glass of fizz for the adults and Michael Buble singing seasonal songs in the background it really did start to feel like Christmas (despite the rainy dank day)” says Jasmine Lewis.
Most of the Christmas trees however have yet to be set up and decorated!
