St Clement Danes School has received another award for excellence in the way it teaches Food Technnology from the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF).

Students Katie Sadler, 17, and Anish Patel, 18, were also recognised by The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) after gaining top marks in their GCSE and A Level Food Technology exams. They joined Food Technology teacher Lorraine Hawkins at the BNF Drummond Education Awards in London where the Princess Royal, Princess Anne, presented the awards.

Mrs Hawkins says: “These students worked really hard to produce some exceptional results so it’s wonderful to see them recognised in this way. We were very proud to receive our awards from Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.”

Katie adds: “We had an amazing day. Princess Anne was really nice. She congratulated me on my achievements and asked me what I wanted to do in the future.” She was awarded £50 plus £100 for her school.

Anish Patel won £100 and an additional £200 for the school.

This is the third time that St Clement Danes School’s excellence in the teaching of Food Nutrition has been recognised by the BNF and the third year that an A Level student has won this top award.

Katie and Anish follow in the footsteps of previous St Clement Danes winners Jessica Wise and Rebecca Deal.
