Following in the footsteps of Tudor royalty does not necessitate a trip to Hampton Court. Just ten minutes drive from Chorleywood is Chenies Manor, a privately owned Tudor Manor House with stunning gardens.
Children and active adults can have a huge amount of fun in the yew maze but if all you want to do is have a cup of tea and a slice of home made cake, its hard to find a more beautiful garden to do it in.
Their amazing tulip display is at it’s best mid April to mid May but there are plenty of other events throughout the year and the garden was looking utterly spectacular in June when this photo was taken.
The 2015 season begins on the 1st April and continues until 30th October and will be the first to have a dedicated dahlia display from June.
The usual opening hours are be between 2-5pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Bank Holiday Mondays between April and October.
A small cafe serves home made cakes and drinks.
