The festoon Christmas lights in the village centre are on thanks to Pierre Bosdet of PCFixup!
“When we changed to LED from incandescent bulbs in 2013 our bill reduced by about £125!” says Pierre, “Not only are LEDs energy efficient and environmentally respectful but there’s less risk of accidents from broken glass.”
The set-up process is a challenge every year. The 12 circuits all have to be electrically tested and broken strings replaced,
“There are always surprises. This year we hope to re-string the post office – they put up new signage in front of the lights two years ago. We are hugely grateful to the Royal Masonic School for Girls for their ongoing sponsorship and our electrician, Matt Jennings, from St Giles Electrical. As usual our ‘celebrity’ doing the switch-on ceremony is a team of 11 white plastic timers.”
